Discover the secrets and the traditional techniques in an authentic search of the precious white or black truffle with a professional “Trifolao” and his inseparable dog.

You will understand how, where and why truffles grow in our area, how dogs are trained, you will learn the differences between white and black truffles and enjoy their intense aroma.

How does it work?

You will meet your guide near Alba, then be driven through the surrounding hills to reach the “Trifolao” in one of its secret spots in the middle of nature.

The transfer is not included, you will need your own car to follow the guide (around 15 minutes from Alba). Transport by hired car with driver is provided on request.

White truffle season: from 21 September to 31 January 
Black truffle season: different types in different times of the year.

Truffles found during the hunt are not included but can be purchased from Trifolao directly. During the autumn season, warm and comfortable clothing is recommended, raincoats and rubber boots are available.

After the activity it is possible to have a truffle product tasting in the wood (or in an enclosed environment depending on the season) for an additional cost. The tasting includes local delicacies such as salami, cheese, truffle cream and wine.
